Hilarie Burton not returning as Peyton
Oh No OTH Fans, Peyton wont be the same old Peyton!

Zap To It has reported that Hilarie Burton WONT be returned as Peyton in Season 8 due to commits with White Collar and her personal life.
Sorry, Peyton fans – Hilarie Burton has confirmed that she won’t be returning to “One Tree Hill” to revive the character for Brooke’s wedding or for the season finale (which will likely be the series finale).
Burton, who is currently on “White Collar,” which shoots in New York, says she doesn’t really have room in her life for a trip to North Carolina. “Unfortunately it gets to a point where your personal life doesn’t necessarily allow a whole lot of room anymore for just jumping on a plane and going wherever,” she said on a press conference call for “White Collar.”
In case you didn’t know, Burton and boyfriend Jeffrey Dean Morgan (of “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Supernatural” fame) welcomed their first child in early 2010.
Burton stresses that there’s no bad blood between her and the “One Tree Hill” cast and crew. “I have such a fondness for that period in my life, and I love all the people there,” she says. “So while that’s a place that I love and it’s an experience in my life that I really love, I don’t think that it’s going to work out, and I still communicate with everybody back there. And I love them as a whole, but no I don’t think it’s going to work out. I’m sorry.”

A bit late but, good nonetheless!
According to @SophiaBush on Twitter, filming will resume on July 14th for Season 8 of One Tree Hill!
AND
Season 7 will be released onto DVD on August 17th!
A week ago we told you that Amazon had begun taking pre-orders for One Tree Hill – The Complete 7th Season on DVD, a release which had no street date at the time because Warner had not formally announced it yet. Today, however, the studio made it official and put this 5-disc set on the schedule for August 17th (this is per the studio; note that Amazon’s pre-order listing – accessed at the button link below – currently shows an incorrect date). The cost of $59.98 SRP that we previously reported has been confirmed, for 924 minutes of featured episodes, plus the following bonus material:
Featurette: New to Camp One Tree Hill
Featurette: The Directors’ Debut Part II
Featurette: Spring Break
2 Audio Commentaries

Press Release from the CW
With regards to Season 8, this is what is in store:
(sorry that it took me a bit to post this, I haven’t been on the computer in a few days!)
“After a seventh season that saw ONE TREE HILL continue to grow and break new ground, the show enters season eight with more than 150 episodes under its belt. The new season finds Brooke Davis happier than ever. Recently engaged to Julian, her wedding will be the captivating affair one might expect from a young, beautiful, successful fashion designer. As Nathan Scott prepares for his second season in the NBA, the Scott family is expecting their second child and Haley feels as though the baby will be a girl. How will she balance her pregnancy while raising Jamie and pursuing her music career? Also, Quinn and Clay’s lives hang in the balance, the victims of a brutal attack which affects all of their friends and family. Season eight of ONE TREE HILL will explore the delicate balance that contemporary twenty-somethings face as they endeavor to build and define what their lives will be, while overcoming difficulties and embracing the good things that they sometimes take for granted, shrouded in the pursuit of someday. It will be a celebration of the most important things, among them the quest for love, laughter, health, friends, career and family: timeless pursuits that have always mattered, and matter now, in a place called Tree Hill. The series stars James Lafferty as Nathan Scott, Sophia Bush as Brooke Davis, Bethany Joy Galeotti as Haley James Scott, Robert Buckley as Clay Evans, Austin Nichols as Julian Baker, Shantel VanSanten as Quinn James and Jackson Brundage as Jamie Scott. ONE TREE HILL was created by Mark Schwahn and is executive produced by Schwahn, Joe Davola, Greg Prange, Mike Tollin and Brian Robbins.”

I would just like to add that Lee Norris was not mentioned in the press release! That makes me very nervous! He better not be dropped!

As reported earlier …
One Tree Hill has “officially” been picked up for Season 8!!!!! Let’s take just a moment to be thankful! It was torture waiting for word on whether Season 7 would indeed be the last season for this wonderful show but, it was announced today that both One Tree Hill and it’s ‘competition’ Life Unexpected will both be returning for a new season!!! There is no word yet on whether it will be a full season of shooting for the OTH cast but, I know that fans will take whatever they can get, whether it be a half season or full!
“Finally, some good news!
After months of on-the-bubble torture, The CW is officially bringing both One Tree Hill and Life Unexpected back for more. Talk about a sweet reprieve!
More CW goodness to come in just a minute, but for now let’s all celebrate these fabulous pickups…

Will One Tree Hill Survive? James Lafferty Weighs In
As our Save One Show results can attest, the fans still care about One Tree Hill. A lot. But with regulars being cast in new pilots, and no word yet from the CW about the 2010-11 season, One Tree Hill fans are a bit…concerned.
The good news? OTH returns this very Monday with new episodes, and there’s still time to prove this series is worth keeping around. (Psst: Tell any friends with Nielsen boxes to watch!)
We just got scoop from James Lafferty (Nathan) himself on where OTH season eight stands, what to expect for the rest of the current season, and why the season finale is taking place in (SPOILER ALERT)…
Utah?!
First, though, here’s what James says about the show’s chances of a season eight: “I don’t want to think negatively, but at the same time it’s realistic that it could be our last season. I’m not going to know how I feel until it happens. It’s like the end of an era.”
But don’t start panicking yet, kids! Just because he’s being realistic doesn’t mean he’s already jumped ship. In fact, everyone is all aboard for season eight.
“I’m signed on. Everybody’s signed on. It’s all ready to go. There’s been no conflict on our parts. It’s up to the powers that be.” So, at least we know that should One Tree Hill be renewed, they can hit the ground running with the same characters. But not exactly the same storylines. James did dish on the rest of the season, and he references lots of “changes” and “decisions.”
